Craig Morton, dissatisfied with NFL settlement, pushes for court case

“I’m not trying to do any harm to the NFL,” Morton said. “But it’s time for someone to step forward. The league never dealt with the real issues. There are a lot of guys out there who are hurting.” Morton notes that the NFL motion to form a settlement places a delay on the entire legal process and as this delay continues, older retired players may lose their ability to provide accurate reports of their playing days while enduring ongoing injury and hardship.

Ann Killion of the SFGate notes: “Speculation is mounting that, as players learn the restrictions of the settlement, more and more will opt out.”
